(Overland Park, October 27, 2018) Bob Ulin and Scott Weaver delivered a 7-hour transition program to nine veteran students at the JCCC on Saturday, 27 October. This program, made possible by a grant from the Gary Sinise Foundation, was the first in a series of programs for young veterans to help them understand how companies find, screen, interview and select talent for their companies. Topics included The Transition Process, Know Thyself, Networking, The Interview, Salary Negotiation and a facilitated Transition Planning session. The veterans provided feedback after each lesson (an AAR) and were universal in their praise for this program. Demographics for this group: average age was 27.6; they included 6 Army, 3 Marines, and 1 Navy veteran; 33% were married; 33% had children; 100% were using some form of education benefits; and, 89% had a disability as a result of their military service. We are looking forward to continuing this important program.
